This classic route in the Annapurna region is also called Annapurna sanctuary trek.
The trek to Annapurna base camp combines some of the most spectacular Himalayan scenery with a fascinating insight into the life of middle hills of Nepal. The site of the base camp is used by expeditions attempting the massif south face of Annapurna I. The principal peaks of the western portion of the great Annapurna Himal, including Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Fang, Annapurna, Ganagapurna, Annapurna 3 and Machhapuchhare, are arranged almost precisely in a circle about 10 miles in diameter with a deep glacier-covered amphitheater at the center. From this glacier basin, known as the Annapurna Sanctuary, the Modi Khola knifes its way south in a narrow gorge fully 12,000 ft. deep. Further south, the gorge opens up into a wide and fertile valley, the domain of the local ethnic group, Gurungs.

Day 1:
Arrive Kathmandu. Receive and transfer to hotel.
Overnight at Hotel.
Day 2:
AM: Kathmandu City Tour. PM: Trek briefing followed by welcome dinner at a Typical Nepalese Restaurant with culture dance show.

Drive Pokhara – Nayapul (42kms) – Trek to Tirkhe Dhunga (1491m.).
Overnights at lodge during the whole trek. [BLD]
Day 5:
Trek Tirkhe Dhunga - Ghorepani (2855m). [BLD]
Day 6:
Ghorepani - Tadapani (2540 m.).
Early morning visit Poonhill for sunrise view and after breakfast, trek to Tadapani. [BLD]
Day 7:
Trek Tadapani – Chhomrung. [BLD]
Day 8:
Trek Chhomrung - Dovan. [BLD]
Day 9:
Trek Dovan - Machhapuchhare Base Camp (3700m). [BLD]
Day 10:
Excursion to Annapurna Base Camp (4237m.) and then retrace back to Deorali. [BLD]
Day 11:
Trek back Deorali - Chhomrung. [BLD]
Day 12:
Trek Chomrung - Ghandruk. [BLD]
Day 13:
Trek Ghandruk - Nayapul then drive to Pokhara. [BL]
Day 14:
Fly Pokhara - Kathmandu.
On arrival, meet and transfer to hotel. Balance day at leisure.
