Damodar Kunda Trek

This one of the most remote but most renowned Kunda (Lake) for Hindu pilgrims is situated in Upper Mustang area of Nepal. Perhaps many Hindus from around the globe are dreaming to take a holy bath in this sacred Damodarkund at least once in their life time. You just plan it we are here to make your dream come true….

It is said to have written in Hindus holy book "Barah Puran"; Lord Krishna has said that the person who pays a visit to this Kunda and takes a deep bath, they will be freed from all the sins what they done in their life. It is also mentioned in the Puran that two sons of Kuber were suffering from their wrongdoing & sin, which they did in their previous birth but Lord Krishna suggested them to take bath in this Kunda and immediately after taking bath in this Kunda they were released from all their sins. This Lake is not only renowned by religious thoughts but equally worth to visit because of its natural beauty.

This wonderful trekking destination is reached after three days walk north east of the main Upper Mustang trekking route and lies very close to Nepal - Tibet border. From Damodarkund, the views are great atop from nearby hills, we can see the Tibetan plateau and the views of Damodar Himal to the north and the Annapurna Himalayan massive to the south is outstanding.

Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive in Kathmandu (800m). Receive and transfer to hotel. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 2: Kathmandu City Tour. City Tours. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 3: Drive Kathmandu – Pokhara (850m). Balance day walk around Lakeside in Pokhara. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 4: Fly Pokhara - Jomsom (2800m.) – Trek to Kagbeni (2800m.)
Entry restricted area:
Day 5: Trek Kagbeni – Chele (3200m.)
Day 6: Trek Chele – Geling (3500m.)
Day 7: Trek Geling – Ghami (3500m.)
Day 8: Trek Ghami – Tsarang (3550m.)
Day 9: Trek Tsarang – Lo Manthang (3800m.)
Day 10: Explore around Lo Manthang.
Day 11: Trek Lo Manthang – Yara.
Day 12: Trek Yara – Bas Khola.
Day 13: Acclimatization Day at Bas Khola.
Day 14: Trek Bas Khola – Damodar Kunda (4890m.)
Day 15: Trek Damodar Kunda – Ghechung Khola.
Day 16: Trek Ghechung Khola – Tange.
Day 17: Trek Tange – Tetang.
Day 18: Trek Tetang – Muktinath (3800m.)
Exit restricted area:
Day 19: Trek Muktinath – Jomsom.
Day 20: Fly Jomsom - Pokhara – Transfer to Hotel. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 21: Fly back Pokhara – Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel.
Day 22/23: Free days. These two days are spare days can be substitute if the flights form Pokhar/Jomsom and back are delayed or cancelled due to bad weather. Otherwise these days can be used for optional sightseeing/shopping in Kathmandu. On the day 23rd evening a farewell dinner at Nepalese typical restaurant with culture show will be provided. Overnight at hotel.
Day 24: Departure. Transfer to airport for final departure.
Note: The itinerary can be customized according to your duration of holiday. Similarly hotel in the cities can be upgraded or degraded depend on your budget.
