Maoist indefinite strikes - Situation Update::
Kathmandu: 07 May, 2010:
Opposition party UCPN (Maoist) has called an indefinite strike followed by their celebration of May Day on May 1, 2010. As per directive given by UCPN (Maoist), tourist vehicles are allowed to operate without hindrance in Kathmandu and outside.
In course of this indefinite strike, Maoist has allowed to run the vehicles carrying tourist without any hindrance. Likewise the vehicles related to Drinking Water & Sanitation, Likewise the, Diplomatic Mission etc are allowed to move freely during the strike period.

Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) in coordination with the major travel associations and Tourist Police have been plying shuttle bus services to/from Airport in Kathmandu. Similar services have also been providing in other major tourist destinations like Pokhara and Chitwan.

Current situation across the country is not complete under control but there is no any danger for the tourist. Domestic Airlines are operating their schedule flight smoothly.
